This patient, a 44 year old rheumatoid lady underwent revision of rt hip in 2005 with MOM where in we advised revision of the lt. cup. Financial reasons or otherwise, she comes 7 years later with the cup migration. comments please. Her metal ions are fine. The xrays are in chronological order. Early revision could have saved much bone and made surgery easier.

What were the difficulties u faced extracting the cup. Did u do a angiogram in this case........just curious why were the charnley wires on the right side removed.
ReplyDeleteThe cup was loose. it was gently mobilised without disection. our plan was to leave it in.jimmy was the only instrument used. angio was not done due to cost and with the history it appeared a recent migration hopefully less time for fibrous adhesion to the vessel.
DeleteThat was a hard job to perform. Many surgeries involve rare situations and only capable persons can handle those situations.
